Welcome to A Lazy J Ranch
A Lazy J is a working Angus cattle and Quarter-Horse ranch in the beautiful Sandhills of Western Nebraska. The ranch is located on the original family homestead and there have been horses raised here since 1911. The prairie is perfect for raising cattle and has numerous sandy trails for training horses. We have four brood mares and our own gentle stallion; adding four foals every spring to our training program.

About Us
Our foals are put through a rigorous program of natural horsemanship during their first year making them very mindful and trusting. The colts are broken for riding once they are 3 years old and continue their training through ranch and cattle work.
The horses complete their schooling through calf roping and rodeo, which develops their strength and discipline. The time spent training these horses makes them some of the most mindful, intelligent and respectful you can find.
We have many happy owners who have bought horses from us over the years both state-wide and beyond. We have horses at various stages of their career for sale along with Black / Red Angus Heifer replacements. Purebred barn cats from a long line of mousers are also available with numerous kittens born every year.
